Insurance policies often refer to "acts of God". These are basically events we cannot blame on anyone else. Humans have a great desire to assign blame. And so, God gets the credit for anything and everything that we cannot blame on an individual or a group.
A good example of "act of God" is an earthquake. So far, we have gathered no possible reason to blame anyone else for such an event. After all, humans are not responsible for the movement of the techtonic plates; nor for the eruption of volcanos. So there are at least some events that we humans can wash our hands of and blame on the Almighty.
There are other events like hurricanes which also seem to be to a large extend beyond our control. We can introduce global warming in the equation but it is even now difficult to assign blame to any individual or groups of individuals. So the insurance companies have as yet no one to sue when a hurricane strikes.
The same can be said of tornados. Metereologists cannot predict when or where exactly they will strike, but are able to forecast their likelyhood rather well. But even though we can do that, we as yet do not understand how the weather patterns develop and if anyone could possibly be blamed for it. So this is to be assigned again to poor God.
We also blame Him for floods, draughts, pestilence, and the list goes on and on. But, surprisingly enough, this is nothing as yet. God is indeed blamed by Christians for the death of nearly all humans.
Surely some will say, he exagerates. How can Christians be said to blame God for the death of most humans? What proposterous new twist is he going to give to some Christian idea? What new perversion of Christian thought is he going to come up with?
