Henri Paul Payfer, pionneer et grand-father of Jérémie Payfer
Henri Paul Payfer, pionner,
was the son of André Payfer and
Christine Fouin
who stayed in Germany. He was born in Germany around 1739.
He died March 11th 1784 at Sainte-Geneviève de Pierrefonds
and was buried on the 13th in the church
in line with the belfrey. He was then a lieutenant in the militia.
Henri Paul married in
Sainte Geneviève de Pierrefonds on February 2nd 1761
Marie Catherine Éthier, daughter of
Joseph Éthier and
Marie Catherine Lauzon. The spouses could not sign their names.
Were presents: Nicolas Claude, François Janevri,
Paul and Gabriel Éthier. Father Besson officiated.
The following note is found: "This act is also found

Marie Catherine was born
on December 1st 1743 at Sainte Geneviève
de Pierrefonds and baptized the following day by the Missionnary Father Faucon.
Her godfather and godmother were Joseph Rouleau
and Marie Anne Lauzon, both of Sainte Geneviève.
Widowed, she married Jean Baptiste Lanthier. She died at
Saint-Eustache on April 7th 1814 and was buried the following day.
Henri Paul and Marie Catherine
had eight children who did not reach age two a
nd six children who married before 1800:

and married there on September 11th 1780 with

born in Pointe-Claire on August 28th 1766 and married at Sainte-Geneviève
de Pierrefonds on January 22nd 1787 with
François Rochon Rocheron;
- Marie Suzanne Payfer,
born at Sainte-Geneviève de Pierrefonds on September 10th 1767 and
married at Saint-Eustache on February 7th 1785 with
Antoine Masson Dutremblé;
- Louis Payfer,
born on October 26th 1770 at Sainte-Geneviève de Pierrefonds
and married there June 18th 1798 with
Marie Josephe Robineau Desmoulins;
- Marguerite Payfer,
born at Sainte-Geneviève de Pierrefonds on 24th August 1772
and married at Saint Eustache on 21st October 1793 with
Pierre Duquet Madry;
- Hyacinthe Payfer,
born at Sainte-Geneviève de Pierrefonds on May 7th 1779 and married there on 16th
September 1799 with
Marie Louise Catherine Legault Deslauriers.

Louis Payfer, father of Jérémie Payfer
Louis Payfer
was the son of Henri Paul Payfer and
Marie Catherine Éthier. He was born at Sainte-Geneviève de
Pierrefonds on October 28th 1770.
While living in Pierrefonds,
Louis married
at Sainte-Geneviève de Pierrefonds on June 18th 1798
Marie Josephe Robineau Desmoulins,
daughter of
Pierre Robineau Desmoulins and Marie Josephe
Proulx Clément. Were present at the wedding: André Éthier, the bride's uncle;
Marie Alexandre Delienne, brother-in-law of the groom; Henri and Hyacinthe Payfer,
brothers of the groom; Janvier Rochon, brother [sic] of the groom, François Rochon,
brother-in-law of the groom and Louis De Hêtre, father-in-law of the bride.
The mother of the bride Marie Josephe Robineau Desmoulins,
widowed, and married Louis Deshêtres, a widower.
There was dispensation of two bans.
The officiating person and writer of the act omitted to sign.
