The Family of Patrick Keoughan & Margaret Kearney

The Family of Patrick Keoughan and Margaret Carney, Margaret Keoughan's Paternal Great-Grand-Parents

Patrick Keoughan was born in Chatham in 1840, the son of Patrick and Mary Keoughan born in Ireland around 1798 and 1801 respectively. For their family, press HERE.

He married Margaret Kearney (Carney), who was, according to the 1880 US Census for Detroit, Michigan, was born around 1842 but in Ireland (!)He was then a Silver-Burnisher. His wife Margaret was said to have been born around 1842 in Connecticut. She died aged 68 on April 12 1906 in Chatham. (This act is found further on.)

Among their children were:

  1. Margaret Ann Keoughan born in Chatham on 11 March 1868. (This act is found further on.) (Three other siblings had been born alive before her birth.)

  2. William Keoughan was born in Chatham on July 4 1872. He married in Chatham on 17 November 1898 Susan Currie, daughter of Thomas Currie and Alice Crain. (This act is found further on.) He died on 5 September 1936 in Chatham. (This act is found further on.) For their family, press HERE.

  3. Agnes Keoughan born in Connecticut around 1874 if the name is wrong according to the US 1880 Census for Detroit, Michigan and married in Chatham on 28 January 1893 William Holt, son of Hael Holt and Ellen Bagley. (This act is found further on.) She was living with her parents and three children at the 1901 Census.

  4. James Keoughan, born 1876 in the United States according to the 1901 Canadian Census for Northumberland, New Brunswick. (This act is found further on.) He was killed in action in France in June 1916. (This act is found further on.)

  5. Michael Keoughan, born 1880 in the United States according to the 1901 Canadian Census for Northumberland, New Brunswick.

  6. Lily Keoughan, born 1883 in the United States according to the 1901 Canadian Census for Northumberland, New Brunswick.
