Frances Poyfair and her Family

Frances Ellen Poyfair was the daughter of Jeremiah Poyfair and Ellen Flynn. She was born on 30 May 1853 at Lockport, Niagara County, New York State, and was baptized 30 May 1853 at St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, in Lockport. She died on 15 June 1948 at Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York State.

On 31 July 1876, Frances Ellen married at the Clinton Street Methodist E Church in Lockport, Niagara County, New York State, James Nelson Simkins. The The Reverend S. Hunt officiated, assisted by the Reverend C. S. Smith.

James Nelson was born on 17 October 1825 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York State, and died on 1 May 1904, at Niagara Falls, Niagara County, New York State.

Frances Ellen and James Nelson had four children:

  1. Julia Simkins, born on 19 December 1881 at Walworth, NY and died on 2 February 1978 at Gwynedd, NY. She married Peter Kain on 17 August 1885 [sic] in Morristown, New Jersey.
  2. Everett Chambers Simkins, born on 14 November 1878 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York State, and died on 30 March 1950. He never married.
  3. Edward Belson Simkins, born on 14 November 1878 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York State, and died on 7 June 1958. He never married.
  4. Helen May Simkins, born on 20 May 1897 at Buffalo, Erie County, New York State and died on 24 May 1944. She had married George F. Nussbaum on 20 [?] Oct 1876 [sic].
